I just got back from Sturgis this afternoon.

I should tell you that Princess is gone.
I still haven't figured out a name for my new girl.
I'll get back to you on that.

I left home mid afternoon and made it to Portage IN just before dark.
I called it a early night as Saturday would be a big day.

Iron Butt Saturday!!!
It's official....I got it in!!!!
Took about 18 hours.
Down to about 58f when I went through Chicago and didn't really warm up until Albert Lea.
Took about 5 tanks of gas to complete.
Here's a pic of my new girl at some gas stop north of Madison I think.
The rest is from a Rest Stop in Chamberlain SD and the Missouri River.
What a beautiful view from up there.









Got into Sundance WY real late so the only thing open was thew gas station so sandwiches for supper

Cody is a very pretty town but a little expensive. some great pics of the area Lunch in Sheridan rest stop     these are of hwy 14 just north of Sheridan       More of 14 going into Cody       Monday July 29 Day 4 525ml 845km http://goo.gl/maps/CGxf3 I woke up early to head to Red Lodge then down to Sturgis. Bare Tooth Pass is by far the best ride i have ever taken. enjoy the pics     more     and a few more     these are of 16 Worland to Buffalo     Tue Wed and Thursday Day 5 - 6 and 7 I spent these in Custer SD right in the heart of the Black Hills. I stayed at a mom and pop motel called the Chief Great place if you are ever in the area. I rested a bit her but also did some of the roads that i missed last year. Riding down to Hot Springs and Spearfish Canyon. theres a burger joint in town and it was pretty good     there is also a pie joint in town more of the area     more in the city     more     Friday Aug 2 680ml 1094km http://goo.gl/maps/qdCdW So I left early in the morning so that I could get a look at the Badlands. as soon as i get to the park it starts to rain and doesn't stop till Mitchell. I didn't get to take many pics so i will have to go back and see this again. needed a break from the rain     I spent the night in La Crosse. Then take the ferry over to Muskegon MI   more   When I was done at the Museum I took the ferry over to Muskegon. what a treat this ride was.   Sunday Aug 4 Last day of trip 267 ml 430km http://goo.gl/maps/pblYl I head home looking forward to my own bed Saw this on the way home.     The Trip..... The trip this year was over 6000km....a little over 3700 miles. I did rest a little but I did also have some long days in there. Iron Butt....I'm glad I did it. It wasn't easy but I'm pretty proud of myself. I wont be doing another one. Last year I did Colorado then Sturgis. This year I did Montana and Sturgis. Oh how I love Montana, It is so beautiful there. I would love to go back and spend a week there. Overall it was a great trip. I have a problem with putting all those miles on the bike. For most people it would take 3 days to get out there and I don't know if I can justify 6 days of my holidays spent on I90. I may look at this differently for next year. its just so many miles to get there. But i loved this trip. Hit me up with any questions you may have.
