Virginia and West Virginia Sept 2015...Sunday

Hey all.
I'm back at the condo in Delaware.
I decided to head back after I did my route yesterday.
The weather was looking iffy for today and yesterday was so nice out so I just kept riding.
Ended up being over a 800km day but that's ok.
It was a great wkd.
I love riding in the VA / WV area.
It's so peaceful and the roads are in great shape.
I had a little trouble with the gps on this trip.
I think it had to do with gravel roads.
Don't know yet as I haven't had time to investigate it fully.
It was hard to figure out on the move as there was a lack of Internet lol.
Blackwater Falls is a really nice park but they haven't had any rain for most of the summer so the water was hardly flowing.
I think this would be a grate place to visit in the spring.
It was nice to get away for a couple days.
I need to do this once in awhile.

Virginia and West Virginia Sept 2015...Friday

Hey all
Pretty good day today.
Some beautiful early morning mist.
It started out not so great as I ran into some twisted gravel roads.
Not really sure how this happened...I'm usually pretty good at avoiding things like that.
The weather was perfect and the roads were great.
Stopped at a general store for a light lunch then later went out for a great diner.
I got up to the top of Spruce Knob mountain and it's a fantastic view.
I'll go there again tomorrow morning before heading north.

Virginia and West Virginia Sept 2015

Hey all.
So I'm holed up in Petersburg WV for the night.
I worked about 80 hours last week so I decided I needed a break.
This is just a short trip....I'll be back at work for Sunday.
I did this trip last fall but the weather wasn't nearly as good as it is now.
Last year it was cold and rain...this time its hot but cool at night.

Today was pretty straight forward as I just blazed to Petersburg.
But I did get to stop on the way for lunch and had my very first ever Five Guys.
Dam fine burger.
Went out for diner and just had to try this chicken fried bacon with maple syrup dip.
One word.....brilliant.
