Hey all.
Went up to the Harley dealer again today to have a look around.
The we stopped at the bar b q joint for some ribs and such.
I had chicken and pulled pork.
Deep fried macaroni and cheese....oh my!!!
Gonna relax for a few days and looks like I'll be heading east Wed or Thursday.
Also it looks like I'll have a traveling companion on the way home. :)
Anyway enjoy the pics

Big ole piece of carrot cake Aug 7

Hey all.
Not much of an update.
I'm still in Westport relaxing.
Tomorrow I'm going to Lacey WA to the Harley Dealer and get an oil change.
I went to the grocery store the other day and picked up this giant piece of carrot cake.

I'll be spending a few more days in Westport.
I should be heading east mid next week.
If the sun comes out today I'm going to spend it on the beach.

Update Mon Aug 4

Hey all.
Here's an update.
It's Monday and my last night on the west coast.
Tomorrow I will start heading east.
Today I'm going to just chill...maybe do a load of laundry.
Tentative plan is to head out tomorrow morning towards Spokane.
Once there I'll get the oil changed and spend the night.
Wednesday I will head to Red Lodge and spend the night.
Then off to Custer South Dakota and spend 2 nights there.

The West Coast......
It's been a thrill ride being out here.
I've logged a couple of long days but it's well been worth it.
Hwy #1 and Avenue of the Giants were highlights and I am so glad I was able to go to this area.

Traffic.....there really hasn't been any.
This surprised me because everything I saw said it was going to be bad.
But it has been anything but and for the most part I was able to go at my own pace.
This will change however as I get closer to Custer and Sturgis.
I normally go here the week before so it should be interesting being there during the rally

3 Day rest in Westport Aug 3

Hey all.
Pretty easy day today.
Went into Aberdeen to pick up supplies and relaxing.
Tomorrow I'll go to the beach.
No pics today.

Surfing the couch in Westport Aug 2

Hey all.
I've made arrangements for working my way east. I plan on leaving the condo Tuesday morning and head to the Spokane area. Then spend the next night in Red Lodge and Sturgis Thursday and Friday night.
Somewhere in there I'll stop at a Harley Dealer and get a oil change.
Tonight I'm dining at Bennets. It's in a little town just outside Westport. Think I'll have fish and chips tonight :).
The sun hasn't been out all day. That's ok cause I spent the day on the couch watching movies. Hopefully it will come out again before I leave.
Tomorrow I will head into Aberdeen for supplies

Hwy 101 and whales Aug 1

Hey all.
Big day today.
I'm back up in Westport at the condo.
I went from Crescent City to Westport via Hwy 101.
So I did about 700 km today.
I stopped in Depoe Bay and watched the whales.
It a nice little town and spent over an hour there just walking around.
Lots of nice little shops.
I also spent about an hour walking on the beach at one of the many pull outs that they have along the Hwy.
Gonna spend a couple days here relaxing before I figure out my next move.

Feel the heat July 31

Hey all.
Sorry I didn't post more last night.
I was pretty beat.
My arms and shoulders were killing me.
I rode from Fort Bragg CA to the Golden Gate Bridge all along Hwy 1.
What a ridiculous road that is.
Lots of pushing on the bars for that road.
Near the bridge I noticed that the bike had a bit of a wobble to it so I pulled over and sure enough I had wore the back tire to the core.
So I limped my way to the closest Harley dealer.
I'm in Cotati California at the Sonoma County Harley Davidson.
I spent last night at the Best Western just up the road.
So I'm getting both tires changed.
Get this....these are the original tires on the bike and the bike now has 22456 miles on it or 36140 kms.
The guys here are pretty blown away by this.
I'll add pics of the tire.
I'm changing the front as well.
There's still some tread left but it's cupping pretty good so time for it to go.
I had diner at the Olive Garden last night cause it was close to the motel.
My first meal there and it was pretty good.
Today after the service I will make my way to Crecent City CA and spend the night.
I'll take 101 all the way up.
Then I'll make my way tomorrow up to Depo Bay.
I would like to spend a couple nights here if I can find a nice place to stay.
I'm trying to post vids of Crazy Cloud and the bridge.
Crazy Cloud is this ridiculous cloud that appears on the west coast.
It isn't real wet or anything but it sure does have a mind of its own.

Lots of bicycles out west doing trips.
I'm considering trying this next year.

Update....
I'm now in Crescent City CA.
Going to spend the night here.
Someone asked about the weather.
Inland....its hot as hell.

If it's 103f when riding what do you think is the temperature in my pants?
